Be transported...

We had a wonderful time in Florida at SeaWorld and at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal.  It's so hard to believe that was 2 years ago.  I used these papers and accessories from Creative Imaginations.  Makes a page come together so easily.

Then, when you add a clever sketch for inspiration...like this one from Scrapbook Challenges #351, it's even EASIER!

As you can see, my layout is a loose interpretation of the sketch.  I liked the idea of all of those tags tucked behind the photos and I used the assortment of frames that came with the HP kit.  Sometimes, all I need is a little kick to get started.

Today, it is HOT, HOT, HOT.  Just like yesterday, the day before, and tomorrow.  I could go for a cool, foamy, refreshing Butterbeer. I wish I could hop on Harry's Firebolt and be transported anywhere a little cooler than here.   But, it's a good reason to go play in the cool scrap dungeon!

Whatever is lifted...part 2

Still celebrating another year of "lifting" over at the  Fiskateer site...
for the Lift Off-Lift the Same Name Challenge, I was inspired by the design of this great flower from Kelly #1017 (see her flower here)

I cut a strip of paper 1 1/2 inches wide and then punched the strip with my Fiskars Threading Water border punch.  I cut a strip at the dip of each scallop to get the "petals" of my flower and then started arranging and gluing them onto a punched 2" circle.

For the center, I cut a circle and placed it in a bottle cap.  I put some Glossy Accents in the center and pressed some beads into the puddle.  I topped everything with more Glossy Accents, and set it aside to dry (for  a    L   O   N  G    time).

This page design comes from a sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges, sketch #309.  This site remains one of my favorites for sketches.  This layout was chosen as a gallery gem for the week of August 24th over on the Scrapbook Challenges blog.

If' I'm posting Halloween layouts, it must be fall!  Who am I kidding, for my regular followers, you know it very well could be February and I would be posting Halloween layouts.  But, it really is fall!  The temps are getting chilly at night, we've even had frost in the garden!  It's my favorite time of year and I'm taking lots of pics to scrap for the future...I'm also trying to get some yard projects done---eek!

I’m so excited!

Now do you have that Pointer Sisters song in your head?

My layout of me and my Grammy--you know, that multi-purpose LO that was a challenge for Scrapping the Music, Fiskateers on line crop/crop about a relationship, Smitha Katti's Fiskars Quilt block of the month, and a layout that included me...

was chosen as

Whatever is loud...

For me, scrapbooking is not just about scrapping the major events in our lives.  It is about capturing the quiet moments, the silly moments, the everyday moments, the "live out loud" moments.  I captured this guy living out loud...making silly faces and crazy hair styles in the bathroom when he thought I wasn't looking.  Once he saw that I was looking, he just continued being silly.

The design was a lift of Jenny over at Scrapbook Challenges, she was Brynn's Pick of the Week, you can see her layout here .  I love this little camera stamp from ImaginisceThe patterned papers are from Close to My Heart and the adorable black and white camera paper is from American Crafts/Amy Tangerine.  It is so adorable that I might have to get some more of that paper...what was I thinking only buying 1 sheet?!

I love these pictures.
I love the rainbow of colors.
I love the confetti burst.
I love that this layout let me use a bunch of scraps...
cuz' I have a few.

whatever is cold...

Usually, I would not be singing the praises of anything cold.  But, in my attempt to stay cool, I have resorted to imagery.  Scrapping pictures of a snowy New Years Day has fooled me into thinking that it is NOT 106 degrees outside.  Actually, it's not working, but it is cooler in my scrap dungeon than it is anywhere else around here.  I'm using this hot spell as an excuse to scrap--not that I ever need one!  This page was inspired by Sketch 302 over at Scrapbook Challenges.  I love sketches that allow me to use a pile of photos!

Speaking of Scrapbook Challenges...my last posted layout (the "Grill Master") was chosen as a Gallery Gem!  How exciting!  My husband insists it was because the layout was one highlighting him---hmm!  You can see it again HERE...and go check out the other gems too--SC is a fabulous, inspiring site!

Stay cool!

whatever is out of this world...

Another bright layout...this time with my new Spellbinders Lotus Pendant dies.  A fabulous find ($10) at the Scrapbook Expo that was in Milwaukee a couple of weeks ago.  I love these dies--so elegant and delicate...they will be great on cards too.   The layout design comes from Scrapbook Challenges, sketch 292.  I used hot glue to create those  multiple circles.

I find the dies and this sketch--OUT OF THIS WORLD!
